Overflow box?

What causes the connector tube to trap air. When I prime the unit it runs great for about 30 minutes then a air pocket starts to form.

It could be a number of reasons. 1) Air. Sometimes you can shake/wiggle the air bubble out of the utube. 2) Flow rate. Check your return pump flow rate. If it is restricted or less than the overflow intake, it will cause an air bubble to form in the utube. 3) Reprime/resiphon the utube. Start your return pump after you get a good sunction and siphon.

There could be other reasons but it's been a long time since I used a prefilter overflow box. Hope you find a solution.
 
Looks like it was #2. My return pump was rated 300gph but I guess it wasn't actually pulling that. Put in a much stronger pump and air bubble is gone. Now just a lot of air bubbles from return line. Will work on that one. Thanks lagunareef. Healthlinder25 thanks for that info I believe that's what happened this weekend and I overflowed the main tank. Will look into one of those
