On my 300 build I had custom overflow boxes put in. Once I turned the systems pumps on it started to make this gargling noise. It creates a lot of air bubbles in my sump and was wondering could this problem be fixed. Don't know if other reefers have come across this problem but any advice would help . Thanks

What kind of drain is it? Straight pipe or durso (spelling?) either way. If you take a 1/4" airline tube and slide it into the pipe down about 3" and have 1" above the drain. It would help if not rid of the noise.

So water has to go Through the 90 then down the drain pipe right? If that's the case then drill 1/4" hole on top of the 90 elbow then slide your airline tube down there with about an 1" sticking out. Also what size tank is it and what's the rating on your return pump?

It's a 300g, my return pump is a 9.5 mag drive. And yes the elbow faces up and allows water to overflow into in and down the straight pipe.

Yea try what I posted above. Cut yourself a 4" airline hose and play with it. It would help with the noise.
