Does anyone have or has anyone seen the new Pacific Sun LED's? Specifically the Triton S is the one I'm looking at. What I've read has been pretty positive and I like the full spectrum without white LED's.

Considering the Triton S, Radion Pro, Maxspect Razor, or Kessil 360W for my 60 cube.

Thanks.

I've only seen pictures. Are you running a controller now or are you considering running one in the future? I would be tempted to go with the new kessil out of the stuff you listed.

There was a recent artical featuring all the LED's in the market and the maxspect was the winner (for what its worth). I also like the fact the maxspect has a built in controller. Plus, since you have a cube and if you keep it rimless, it comes with every mounting kit made. Something you have to purchase seperate with anything else.

I have an Apex so I can control it. Kessil was my first choice until I started researching more. Love the aesthetics of the Kessil, seems like they were made for cubes. Just not sure they're the best light out there. The price is far more attractive than the Pac Sun or Radion Pro's though!

only thing ive found with using a kessil on a cube is that you are usually only using 1 and as such will have a spot light effect where some sides will never receive any lighting..

Apex ready + would be nice. Pendants have a nice, minimal look over cubes too.

C'mon guys, you're talking me back into saving $300! What kind of reef friends are you lol!

I was looking at the Kessil specs again and the regular A360 has 18" spread at the waterline. It should fill a 24" cube perfectly right or am I missing something? The A360W has a 24" spread at the waterline meaning significant waste out the sides.

Ok, so anyone know of a Kessil A360 around that I can look at? With the savings I could get my skimmer and return pump too. Just don't want to screw up the lighting.

I need to check with Gregg Leonard and see if I still have an open invitation to look at his Maxspect's too. And I'm sure at least one store has a Radion Pro hanging over a tank. With Apex announcing that the WXM could be used to control Radion's that makes them appealing as well. Supposed I could save some $ by going with the Gen 2's vs Pro's.

Razor is definitely in the running too. Controller isn't as big a deal for me though since I have the Apex Jr with the VDM module already.

Looks like I'll be going with the Kessil. Maxspect Razor was also very tempting but I just don't need a built-in controller. I'm also not convinced that the Pac Sun Triton's and Radion Pro's are worth the extra money. Another thing that I considered is that the Kessil's have such good reviews, at least right now, that if it doesn't work out I can sell them at a minimal loss.

Just hope I'm not kicking myself a year from now about the Radion's or Pac Sun lol! The $300 price difference will buy me at least a sump and maybe a return pump too leaving with rock, sand, and at some point another MP10wES as all that stands between me and getting the tank up. Hmmm, and it's 2 months before Christmas.(Don't remind my wife that the tank and stand are my Christmas present lol!)

Ever consider the wp-25s? You can link them to the apex with reef angel cables. Just a thought if you're trying to shave down cost.

Will someone explain this to me: how to connect. Pictures would be great also..

Cost is always a factor but I have a MP10 now that I love. I'd actually purchased one of the WP-40's and sold it with my last upgrade tank lol! I just love the look and performance of the Vortechs. So I just consider Vortechs worth the extra. The lights, I just can't convince myself that the Radions are worth the extra. Pretty confident that the Kessil will grow SPS down the road when I want it too.

are you wanting to grow branching corals??if so, a single kessil will leave you with sides of your branches that dont grow and die..

Personal experience with an A360W or something you read? I've seen photo evidence to the contrary with the 350's and 360's. There have been bad reviews too of course but the positive have far outweighed the negative. This could be said of every LED lighting system out there though. Briefly considered going MH but just don't want the heat or bulb upkeep. In the end, if the Kessil is what I determine to be holding back any SPS growth than I might just make the switch to MH anyway. Or at least get a 150w as a supplement to the Kessil. That's down the road though. I had decent acro growth under my DIY CW/RB LED fixture in my biocube until I let my param's get out of whack.

Mainly I wish Kessil would release more details about their chip. Primarily I'm encouraged by others results and the fact that they make their own LEDs so they can taylor the wavelengths to exactly what they want.

Also, thank you for the input. I value contrary opinions too!

I have a a150. And my friend had two a360 on his 90.. his branching coral are doing fine since he had two lights.. the prob with the one light setup is that the light produces a spot light effect since the leds are located on the chip and not spread around like other led systems. I love my a150.just wish it was dimmable. And two a360 may be what my 90 gets. I might even run two a150's on my bc29

If your cube is 24" you will have no issues with with using an A360W. We have used these on multiple service tanks of ours with no drop off issues on the edges of the tank. It also looks great with with rimless cube tanks! So I would feel completely safe making the purchase of the Kessel.

I will say though that we personally prefer using the Radions whenever possible over any other LED option. The adjustability and customizable features of the Radions are just unmatched in my opinion.

I have 3 350a kessils on my 220. My wife has a kessil 360n on her 18x20 cube. Soon too be 24x24 cube.

Is the radion pro more geared towards sps?

Saw some Radion Gen 2's over at SEA today. Looked very nice and for now only $100 more than the Kessil. Still leaning Kessil though. Tough decision lol!
