Hello I recently became a paid member and it said my profile was updated. I still can't post anything on the selling forum. Can someone look into this?

There are several forums where it says I cannot create a new post. I just joined today. Does it take a while to update?

Your account is upgraded. It needs to be modified in two places and right now it's only happening in one automatically after payment. We are working on on getting it fixed.

You have full paid access now.

I have been a member paid and unpaid since 1995 under various names (bet they're still in your member list too). I think the way this site is going is terrible. To not be able to give feedback or share knowledge with other members and now Participants is so frustrating.
Look at reef central and how they operate, it has worked well for them. I have never been limited by not paying, only by not posting!!! Duhhhh!!! That seems to me what a reef club should be about.
One last thing. Someone forgot to restrict non paying Participants from sending a private message to paying members that are trying to sell livestock and supplies. We participants can still buy things posted in for sale categories. Better yet, just remove those categories from Participants view like you do for the Members only for sale thread.

In my opinion this new regime on ARC will drive people away to other more friendly sites.

I would of posted this elsewhere but I have been restricted from Participating!

Same issues here Terry. I agree, the site is rough and we've lost much functionality.

Here's my notes from Facebook:

Couple of things:
I can view forums but not post.
Billing info is blank and says I'm not a paid member.
Tapatalk is my preferred way of viewing forums (notably reef forums), will this be an option?
My threads photobucket photos don't show up due to a way photobucket has changed their TOS and I can't edit my old posts, so my thread is essentially useless anymore without the ability to update my old posts.
That video on the home page... why? Give us the option of watching videos on a separate page or just link to youtube.
The links to the facebook/instagram/etc on the bottom/top right of the site don't work.
Even while logged-in the site continues to give me the option of logging in and upon clicking the link it seems to allow me to log-in again for no reason.
The site is VERY slow and laggy.
There are a ton more issues but these are just the top couple that popped out upon reviewing the site.

Ok guys, please understand that this is all very much a work in process.

1st, our developer and a preplanned conference they are attending this week. Any emergencies are being taken care of but beyond that there will be nothing done by them until next week. Any modifications being done this week are being preformed by Brett.

2nd, I was told that other platforms like Xenforo don't have the selling/credit card abilities that we will have with BBPress/WordPress. In addition to that shortcoming if we went that route and had a developer handle the entire migration and design we would have been looking at $20,000.00 plus, our entire budget for the year is $16K. As you can see that is not a direction we could have gone.

I'm sorry everything isn't perfect from the start but we will continue to improve the site and the speed. By this time next month most if not all issues will be resolved.

Exactly what Adam said, this is not finished by mo means. However we will be restricting non paid members from posting in the drygoods section. This will cut down on mods having to close sale threads started in wtb sections. We are a pretty good size club, but we are nowhere the size of reef central. All of our club meetings where we do giveaways goes diretly back to our community. Theres a cost to doing everything. As its been stated before. This is not finished by anymeans and we will continue until the sponsors and members are satisfied.

Right now nonpaid members can post here and in the Reef Discussion forum. We are currently discussing which other forums we are going to open up to nonpaying members. We had to start somewhere to get the site up and not leave that option field open to all.

This is something that was just as possible in the old site as it is here. But it's highly frowned upon. Just as before we ask that these spam type PM's be reported so the Mods can handle them.
We can't shut down PM's to only paid members. I don't know of any site that does that.

We will look into what happened to the Member Only sales forum. I'm not sure why that is not appearing.

Hey Zach, I looked through the paid member list that I have from May's meeting. You were not listed as a paid member at that point. Brett has one from June and I'm waiting to hear back from him. Did you become a paid member at some point after May?

At this point it doesn't look like Tapatalk is going to be an option for us. We hope to get more info on that next week. I am not happy about this at all either. Tapatalk is my preferred way to view and post to forums from my phone. We are also looking into an app for Android and Apple.
My threads photobucket photos don’t show up due to a way photobucket has changed their TOS and I can’t edit my old posts, so my thread is essentially useless anymore without the ability to update my old posts.
Just as with the old forum, after 10 minutes there is not editing ability to posts. I know either R2R or RC allow editing but the other doesn't. This PhotoBucket issue is effecting just about every forum out there so it's just not us. Unless they decided to amend their TOS this is going to be and ongoing problem for a great many people everywhere.

This was shut down pretty early after we went back live. Try clearing the cache on your browser.
The links to the facebook/instagram/etc on the bottom/top right of the site don’t work. Even while logged-in the site continues to give me the option of logging in and upon clicking the link it seems to allow me to log-in again for no reason.

These will be corrected next week. I'm not seeing the login issue very often and when I do it's on a my phone.

Zach, After reviewing the spread sheets again we found where you are a paid member and that it is set to renew this month. Your account has been updated.

Hey Guys, I am a new paid member and looks like there was a recent upgrade to the site. Can somebody tell me how to post a new topic/question or do I need to upgrade my membership?

thanks,

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

As a registered member you can post in most of our forums except our for sale forums.  When you become a paid member a few other forums will be visible to you.  If you would like to see the other benefits you reveive as a paid member click on the "Join the ARC" link at the top of the page.

Bcavalli,

I AM a paid member, as of Dec 1st. I paid with Paypal but I still show as just a "spectator".

Am I still restricted from the posting in the sale forums?

Stephen
