I just finished plumbing my new system and was wondering if it is safe to prime and paint the pvc that will not be in water?

Most people say yes. Krylon Fusion is designed for plastic, and works well if you scuff up the surface with a scotch pad or something. I think it is even safe for plastic that is under the water.

make sure it's lead free. If it's not in the water it shouldn't be a problem though.

My stand is open as you can see in this picture

I just want to prime and paint the white brown so it disappears a bit. The brown paint is an enamel and that was my concern, but it sounds like it will be alright. This is one heck of a project that is almost done!

krylon fusion works. Both my tanks have it in the water with no problems.

I just painted my new overflows with krylon. If it kills anything I'l let ya know, but I doubt it will.

Likewise. I will be adding 2 chromis tomorrow just to have some sort if life in the tank. I will be transferring everything from my 55 next week as long as there are no fatalities.

I've painted PVC before with no issues. I suggest a flat black over a glossy black.
