I'm new to measuring PAR.... but I think I may have a problem. I picked up a BTM3000 PAR sensor and did three quick readings:
(1) Out of water, 4" below light source = 503 - 548
(2) In water, 14" below light source = 199 - 209
(3) In water 26' below light source = 95-99
The 200 reading mid-tank may be OK, but I don't believe 95-99 on the bottom will support anything except some softies.... definitely not clams.
I'm running a standard 72 x 24 x 24 tank: Three four year old RadipLED Onyx fixtures with 2 x 80 T5 supplements (old bulbs).
Thoughts?
