Found this on my True Perc about a week ago, this white spot has not gone away and I think I see a similar spot on my other perc as well. The white part of the spot looks like pillow stuffing. Can anyone identify? Thank you in advance!

I wish my pics were a little better, used my camera phone. Might try again once my regular camera is charged!

Thank you, hope that's better.

Edit: I just realized how horrible these pictures are! I will try to post new ones soon.

From the pics, I can't tell, but it sounds fungal or bacterial. What are your params?

Water parameters are great at:
Ph: 8.3
No2: 0
No3: 0
Ammonia: 0
Phosphate: 0
Calcium: 480

Keep trying to get better pictures, borrow someones camera if you have to. If you get a clear picture I'm sure someone will be able to identify it for ya.

When I hear about white patches on clowns, the first thing that comes to mind is Brooklynella. Google some images of that and see if it looks like what yours have.

1st, quarantine ASAP. I dont know what it is, but I had the same thing on a previous clown that didn't make it. (Hard to see if it's on a white area).
See this thread, although I think the ID is incorrect, the owner healed the clown.

I'll definitely try to take better pics, I looked at some pics of Brooklynella and it doesn't look anything like it. It is just a smooth single bright white spot, I wonder if maybe there was some fighting going on in my tank and my clown got nicked and maybe it just taking some time to heal, the opposite side of the tail also looks almost translucent as if there was tissue missing there the white spot is. I was advised to use Herbtana just in case.
Hopefully I'll have new pics by tomorrow.
BTW, behavior has been totally normal...

Can't be positive from the picture but it appears to be Lymphocystis.

If it's a single spot and not spreading, leave it be.

How long have you had the clowns? Any aggression or other stressors occurring in the tank?

If it's Lymphocystis, it's viral (like warts) and it's brought on by stress. It's not really contagious and it's not dangerous unless it's on the mouth, etc., and impedes their ability to eat. Where that's at, it's not going to harm the fish's functioning.

Leave it be, watch and wait. It should go away on its own. See if you can determine what the stressor is and fix that - that's the key to making it go away.

Spot still there, white as snow but thankfully my clown is still eating and acting as nothing is wrong...

Look for what might be stressing the fish. Aggression, temperature, other parameter problems... it fits with lymphocystis, just need to figure out why.
