What kind of placement (flow/light) do you have for your pectinia? Do you spot feed? If so what and how often?

I picked up a Fish Store Space Invaders pectinia a couple years ago. That is the name from the thread but it is not what we think of as "space invaders" as it is a Rainbow Pectinia.. I've had moderate/decent growth while I've had it however recently I've noticed some tissue recession.

I believe they're a type of chalice so you'd want medium to low flow IMO and a decent amount of light. If it's been recently loosing tissue have you changed anything?

Here's a picture of mine.
Moved it around quite a bit until It stayed happy.
You'll know it's happy when it's "puffy" and at night it sends out some seriously long feelers and the lower parts get even puffier.
That's when I feed it.
I've got mine in the lower left corner of the tank, not much flow, not much light.
Not trying to hijack your thread, but pictures make it easier for me.
You can see it bottom left corner in the second picture.

thanks for the pics Mkowl. Your pectinia looks real healthy. Does it always stay puffy or does it ever look bonier?

I have a 60g frag tank, bare bottom, with A LOT of flow. I run LEDs and with only 12" of depth so there is also a lot of light, however it is easier for me to find medium and lower light locations than it is to find a low flow spot..

Am I correct in assuming Pectinia is more tolerant of light than it is of flow?

I agree with the statement they are more tolerant of light than flow, as where I moved it, the light is not much different, but flow is way less.
And I know exactly what you mean about bonier.
When I had it under more flow and more light, it definitely looked bonier, all shrunken in, not puffy at all.
Moved it to less (almost non existent behind that rock) flow and less light, it is now always puffy.
And at night, the orange gets even puffier, extending a bunch of long clear feelers over 3" long.
that's when I feed it. It almost looks spooky at night.
I'd like to see a picture of yours.
Not too many people have these.

I relocated mine underneath the return lines by the overflow. Much less flow here than the previous location. I also removed a PH. I had 2 Jebao WP40's running in my 60g frag tank. It was certainly a lot of flow, but its good for the BB.

One pic shows a closeup of the tissue recession. The zoomed out pic shows the location of the pectinia in the upper corner by the overflow.
