Any of you keeping any gobies? I had one in a past tank with fiji pink and I loved their personality. I am really wanting to add one to my tank now if I can. I know there are some pieces of the substrate that are fairly large so I know they would have a problem with that. Opinions? Experience?

Does a lawn mower blenny count?

Yea bro may be a little to coarse in places for the diamond goby as Colin mentioned. I have been wanting to add one as well, but guess I'm not now, after what Colin said.

I've got four gobies in my tank including a dimond, they all seem happy and my substraight consist of sand, crush coral and shell mix. The dimond gobie keeps it all well mixed LOL

the whole point of it is the bigger stuff can damage or get stuck in their gills. They cant filter the bigger stuff so to speak. If you watch them they take a big gulp of sand and sift it out of their gills. I dont know if they really look at the sand too much before they hit it. I dunno man you know my sand has some of those bigger chunks and the gobies seem ok. However when they do get one of the larger pieces in their mouths I can tell it bothers em. JMO and JME

Yea, i have a dragon goby. And when he gets to much in his mouth, he has to spit it out, and it bothers him.
