Are these shrimp harmful to corals? Had to get a few due to pests. Wanted to make sure they were safe for corals. I've had mixed answers and wanted to see what this forum thought. Thank you!

I have 3 in my DT that have been there for about 14 months. It's a mixed reef. These guys haven't done anything but eat a couple of aptasia and steal food from the LPS now and then. They eat when I feed the fish. Otherwise, they are model citizens.

Mine never bothered anything. But I have heard dozens of stories on the web about them bothering certain corals, especially trachys and other lps such as various euphylia. In my own experience I have no issues.

The general consensus is that they're harmless.

But you occasionally see videos floating around like this one.

Thank you for the info!
