Phosphat R by Brightwell Aquatics

I was curious if anyone has used the Phosphate R and what kind of results you got. It claims to remove phosphate and silicates. They also claim it is regeneratable.

O well, i was hoping there was an efficient fix that could be regenerated, but if it doesnt work well, then the actuall regeneration process seems like a pain in the *** if there isn't a great outcome.

So, Phosphate R is out. As far as GFO goes, i am guessing the 'high capacity' by Bulk Reef Supply is the best... but pretty pricey. I'm guessing for the price of the regular GFO, you could probably achieve similar results. My phoshate has been hovering around 0.25-0.5ppm (according to the API test kit [not a huge fan of API]).

Regular 'ol GFO will work just fine; you just have to rinse the bejesus out of it and change it once exhausted.

Seachem's Phosgaurd is pretty awesome stuff. If I'm paying for a premium product, this will be it.

Have it tested on a photometer; it'll give you the most accurate numbers.

Do you know anywhere that would have a photometer i could bring my water to? I have heard mixed opinions on phosgaurd. Some people say that unless you use 'the bag' by seachem, aluminum dust will make it into your aquarium and piss off a lot of coral. Any good or bad experience?

That's BS, plain and simple. Phosgaurd is completely safe. It'll no more "piss off" your corals than rust, I mean GFO, making it into your aquarium.

I don't know any store that currently has a photometer. Regular test kits are fine, but won't get you the accurate, definitive numbers that a photometer will.

Would there be any pro's/con's to running aluminum oxide and ferric oxide based products at the same time, or at this point would it just be over loving the tank? Thanks for the responses so far!
