I found him buried under some rocks yesterday and I thought he was dead. I took the rocks off him and he swam back under another rock. No physical signs of disease or broken skin, just won't eat. I tried putting some food right in front of him but won't touch it. Any ideas?

I don't see anything on it's body at all. Colors are good also. I had one once that got sick and turned white almost all the way.

Did you just get him? Might be really really really really shy.. But maybe try live foods, maybe it will entice him.

Mine is still very shy, going on almost a year now. He'll only come out of the rocks for me, no one else. Give him time to eat, if your tank is well matured, he may be eating and you just don't know it.

The thing that's weird is that I've had him for about 6 months and he has always been swimming around, eating and doing his thing but now he seems out of it, not eating or swinning around. I have a larger blue throat that I thought might have been the problem, but I have seen the pink tail chasing him so I don't think that could be the problem. He's going on 3 days of not eating.

Do you have a QT on stand-by? PinkTails are very passive with tankmates,I hope nobody is picking @ him... Try a few days in a QT to better observe him,I always use pellets w/garlic at 1st signs of non-eating fish... Keep me posted

I didn't want to quarantine him for furher stressing if he's already stressed and I do feed ocean marine pellets which contain garlic. I don't know how else to entice him to eat. I'll try some frozen food tonight.
