Over the years I have had plate coral after plate coral die after 6+ months.  Each time I left the dead plate coral in the tank hoping that babies would grow from it.  Finally I have had success with about a dozen babies starting to grow from the last one that died.   Whats even better is the babies coloring are very different from the parent.

I've had one for over a year that only started to grow in the last couple of months. That one of yours has some really nice color.

Thank Dan.  I cant wait to see if the colors remain the same as they grow.  Im keeping my fingers crossed.  :)

I got one with 5 babies for a few years now. I will break one off when they get bigger and it will grow back in a few week. Very cool

Is that how you frag them? Just break it off? My bigger one, like nickel size maybe, has some small ones under it. I have been wanting to move the one on top.
