Hey guys, sure this has been asked a million times. ill ask it anyway I'm burnt out on google searching.
plumbing my 1st big reef system i want to run everything reactors etc from manifold save plugs and pumps etc.
i have a 120 48x24 reef ready with Reef Synergy 34 sump. i was planning on a mag 7 i have mp'40s for DT flow. when i T off 3/4 return for reactor T's do i use 3/4 to 1/2 reducing T's or run everything3/4 and just put 1/2 end cap?

You wouldn't need a high volume of water through your reactors so 1/2" would be fine.
Is the tank a single overflow?

Yes. I was going to go with a 3/4 spray bar type return in tank.

I'm still relatively new to large tank had a Nano awhile and a 76 half round a little over a year.

Well I had a mag 12 on my old 120 so it can run the reactors plus the tank and still have enough for head loss.
I would go with at least a mag 9.

Ok. Thanks i had a mag 7... I'm thinking about a DC reef octopus.

As a return I've got the jebao dc12000 which I also ran on my 120 after I changed from the mag.

Awesome. Thanks I feel a little better I'm headed in the right direction. So running 3/4 to 1/2 reducing T's with 1/2 union ball and gate valves is what I'll go with. Is there way to know much flow you have going through DT? I don't want too much flow through sump. I'm running an skimz sv223

I would also plan for future add on's so I would make sure to do a multi maifold.
The 1"drains on the DT can only Handel 700gph which I use every bit of it.

its getting there, just a dry fit. going to remove the ball valve from the emergency line for a straight union. then trim a lil to even up all the gaps on the manifold then recheck everything and start gluing. this is my 1st got at a manifold so I'm liking it so far.
Any suggestions for a quiet sump? i wanted to go full syphon but i read you cant do that too well when running a manifold due to flow variations. I'm running a durso now but its loud as crap.
