Folks:

What do you find is the best product for getting your outside aquarium glass really clean and polished? I have been using Brillianize, and it works really great. I particularly like how smooth the glass is after using it, but I was hoping there might be something as good or better that I can find at a Home Depot or some other common store.

Thanks in advance.

I use Windex with Vinegar. It is a clear Windex product. Comes in a clear spray bottle. It has a lot less streaking than regular Windex.

Love it.

Stoner's Invisible Glass, sprayed on a lint free microfiber cloth in another room, then wipe down all sides, flip over and wipe down again. So clean you can't tell the glass is there. I love driving when I've just cleaned my windshield with the stuff.

Coop,
You probably already know this, but never spray anything directly on your tank glass. Spray onto the paper towel or rag, away from your tank. Overspray into the tank and our skimmers sucking air can put contaminants, etc into the water column.

RO water with a little vinegar. Does an OK job and the vinegar content is small enough that I can spray it in the room with the tank without worry. Wiping is done with whatever is handy... typically a paper towel even though I know I could do better.

Anyone believe that there's room in the market for another aquarium safe, non-toxic, prepared glass cleaner? Something you could spray directly on to the tank (without suggesting that anyone spray it directly into the tank of course).

I've got the formula, working on the packaging......

Too SW heavy, how about:
"Aquarium's Invisible Glass"
"Aquarium-safe glass cleaner" or "clean-a-tank"

Robb, it was a play on "Stoner's" which is made specifically for smokers (don't know how), and I thought Reefer's fit nicely with that, lol.

Lots of people use newspaper and windex to clean glass. Never heard of it? I used it all the time when I would wash my Dad's car for pocket money when I was a kid. Maybe using newspaper is history?

That's nothing.. Want to hear something crazy?! I have a buddy in Texas that uses those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.. INSIDE the tank!! I have actually seen him do this and watched the tank for ill effects and none ever showed.. Not that I have the intestinal fortitude to try it but.. Crazy stuff..

Magic Erasers are great for cleaning inside tanks, especially acrylic. They are inert. No chemicals. Just get the original ones. It is a melamine foam, nothing more. There was a multi page thread on Reef2Reef about using thm a few months ago. They actually help reduce the appearance of scratches inside acrylic tank with continued use. I used them on my acrylic cube when I had it set up. Great for all algae except coralline.

Majic Eraser is The Bomb!!!!!!!!!!

It's the micro texture of the sponge, not chemicals, that do the cleaning....

There are commercial preparations on the market that are aquarium safe. Coralife used to make one - it's soon to come out again under the Kent brand. They're also good on TVs, Monitors, etc. Anti-static, reduces fingerprints (great in a LFS setting!)... I use it at home too.
