polishing glass

Well not exactly polishing but who has exp on getting rid of scratches on glass tanks I've seen fire polishing and chemical and even a series of pads on the net what is the best way this is not for my dt just trying to redo an extra tank in the garage

Cerium oxide can be used to buff out minor "scratches". I've tried it & found it to be a monstrous waste of time & energy.

+ 1 and if the scratches were removed it left a distortion in the glass. Seems to work ok on curved windshields
