poly-bio-marine poly filters

i was wondering if adding poly filters to my filter system was a good idea and if any one had any suggestions on them or alternatives.

what are the pros and cons of the poly sock? and where do i get them?

IMO everybody should have a PolyFilter (by PolyBio Marine) in their "emergency kit".

I don't think I'd recommend running one all the time, but they are great for emergency removal of all kinds of nasties including medications, phosphates, ammonia and more.

These are fantastic in an emergency situation. I've had a few over the years and always keep one on hand. They can be a livesaver.
