I've threatened to start this several times already so I just need to get it over with and start the thread already.

I got the skimmer, return pump, tank, stand, and canopy from @t_anton0283

First order of business was to repaint the stand and canopy. I used killz on the interior of the stand and canopy and semigloss black on the exterior. I then put a coat of spar urethane on the interior. Unfortunately, the cats got in before it was dry.

Coming soon: sump and plumbing.

Sump came from @trizzino and baffles from @dball711.

Plumbing and weld-on 4 should arrive on Thursday.

I have rock from @FutureInterest curing in a brute currently.

I also have a BRS dual reactor from @hatzo1 that will run carbon and gfo

Been very busy and haven't had much time till work on the reef. My sewage pump failed and flooded my basement. So, I've been doing some plumbing but not the kind I wanted.

I put the baffles in the sump today. Big shout out to @dball3717 for cutting the baffles and his advice. I really think it turned out great.

Stand doors and sides are getting final coats of paint and new hardware hopefully tomorrow. Then it will be time to plumb. I'm pretty bummed that I'm so behind schedule. I wanted to be cycled and ready for coral by the expo. I wanted to stock up on nice sticks and montis. Oh well. Patience is key, right?

Sorry about your issues with delays. Does not sound fun!!! Bless your heart! But now you have it going on! And yes...we have all learned the hard way, patience is key and there will always be great frags available somewhere when we least expect it. Blessings!

Finally got to some plumbing today. Everything was going great until I realized I was missing 1 male PVC adapter. Another trip to Home Depot tomorrow and I will be ready to glue everything in place. I also took a first stab at my rock work tonight. Let me know what you think.

I also installed a light inside my stand so I can see what I'm doing when I work down there.

Great job! A lot of work and getting closer every day! Rock work looks great!

3 week update:

Tank is cycling well. I added some Dr. Tims at start up. Definately working woth diatoms right now. I've done weekly water changes. First was ~15 gallons in the first week. Last week I did ~25. Currently I 5 turbo snails, 10 cerinth, 10 astrea, and 10 hermits in the tank. Rock work is staying clean. Glass has some buildup but nothing too bad. I added a few corals early on. 1 duncan, 1 AA chameleon, 1 strawberry shortcake, and 1 plum crazy. All are doing well, good extension and good colors.

Today I picked up a rainbow twilight from @dball711. Got to say first of all, what a deal! Great size and color. Its clearly healed and encrusted. It is a nice looking frag. Im slowly building up to having all of Dave's sps. 1 down, the rest to go!

Latest addition to the tank is a flaming unicorn acro again from @dball711. Again, fully healed fully encrusted and a heck of a steal from the auction last week.

I dosed last weekend and will test again this weekend to get my daily dose regimen at least started. BRS 2 part should be delivered tomorrow.

I added a jebao sow-15 opposite my 3k Gyre today. Had to turn it to maybe 1/2 power since it was sliding my frag rack down to the samd bed. Definately a lot of flow.

Adding 2L of matrix tomorrow to the sump.
