Hey guys got home today to find my 8 bulb t5 ho aquatic life light flickering at the control panel no lights would come on or anything i took of the lens, bulbs and each reflector on the side with panel, then i took off the control panel looked for damage, i see a little bit of a chared spot.... I pluged control panel back in after having it out for a few min.. and i can now get my actinic lights and moon lights on. wat should my next step be? I already emailed aquatic life explaing everything asking how to get a new control pannel and asking if its under warranty. If the 10k does not come on by morning i will be turning lights on when i am home till i get a new control unit, running with only 4 bulbs as i am swapping out two actinic slots for 10k

Well this thing is 72 inches long compared to something that can fit in a envelope i hope they can just send me a new control panel.... But thanks i hope they survive under half light for a while i will only be running it at night when i am home to make sure the bad control pannel does not burn house down.....

try and place all your coral as high up in the tank as possible. You will be fine for a few days but you need to get it fixed asap to ensure no real damage.

I already thought of moving my corals i basicaly already have all the higher light corals as high as possible. Hey i bought this fixture in december from one of our sponsors, should it still be under the manufacture warranty?

it should be under a year warranty (which is standard) unless it says otherwise from the manufacture.

On aquarium specialty it says 12 months (1 year) so i think i should be good to go. I read some reviews that people have posted places saying that aquatic life has good coustomer service and sends replacement parts within three days.. I am calling asap tomorow morning.

alright thanks, I have to work eleven to eight all week so between 9pm and 10am i can run lights beings its only half the light should i run it that entire time? its still sitting for now as i want to let it sit with panel out all night to try it in morning.

Call the sponsor you got it from, they often have more clout with the manufacturers and can get quicker replies from their reps, they may even "loan" you a new one or get you a replacement very quickly since they have so many deliveries coming in each week.

I have the same fixture (72" 12 lamp) so it makes me a tad nervous! try to push the "white" button really hard to see if it comes on, i have to do that for my whites

Well to anyone who has this light coustomer service is awesome with aquatic life they shipped it today and told me how to bypass the control pannel, if you ever have this problem take off the reflectors and find the quick connector going to the control pannel it has lots of diff color wires, unplug the quick connect from the conrtoller side and all your lights will come on, you can now unplug and plug in your lights to use them. I found out how i messed mine up i left my hydrometer sitting to close to it and forgot about it and it dripped slowly to it. On another note my blue tang now has ick! :( and i will never be able to catch it from my tank.......

Sorry to hear about your problems - I just saw this thread and was going to tell you if you needed help, to let me know. I've had nothing but great experiences with Aquatic Life, and they are very on the ball with customer service.

Glad to hear they took care of you!

Bummer about the ich... time to fatten him up and lots of garlic.

Jenn
