I was wanting to start a nano reef tank.

Would a T5 HO lightening fixture be better than a LED lightening fixture?

I also would like some guidance on lighting. I have a 36-inch LED strip on my 65-gallon tank, and am thinking of adding some *beginner* corals.

Is my lighting barely enough, good enough, or do I need to add more?

Shane, it would depend on the kind of LED's that are on that 36 inch strip, ie: how many, what wattage, PAR output.

I would go led raipedled has pre made kits for nanos for under 200 t-5can heat a small tank not a issue in the winter but in the summer it can git bad
