Hey all,

I hav eno intention of staining the inside of my stand and canopy but did want to try and find a waterproof something of similar color (dark cherry) to paint the inside with thereby waterproofing it?

Any ideas?

thx.

I went through the same thing and settled on one of the stains with poly in them. It works fine and went easily because I wasn't worried about even coloration... just laid on a thick coat.

sounds interesting....you mean one of these?

No sanding required?????

sorry guys, need to figure this out so I can paint by thursday. Any other suggestions....if not Ill go with the above, I like the idea.

That's similar to what I used, but I bought the Behr product (only because their color seemed to match my stand better). If I could, I would add another coat of polyurethane on top, because the more moisture protection the better. I didn't add the second step because I was just doing a canopy to match my stand.

Some people also do the inside of stands with Kilz. I think a white interior looks clean and the extra light reflection inside makes it easier to work on your system. Unless there is some unusual reason you want the inside to match the outside, I'd personally go Kilz with white enamel over it.

Thanks Barry. no other reason other that I hought it would look nicer when the doors open but you make a great point about the light reflecting and maybe it being easier to work with in there.

I guess ill just do that. Seems easy enough and its available at HD I think. Instead of enamel can I use poly on top? I have a half gallon left...lol.
