how long are you suppose to leave the skimmer off when you are feeding the corals?

I do, only because I turn off my return when feeding and the skimmer is in sump so i dont want to overflow it

My standbuy mode (thx to gary) runs for about 8 minutes which is enough time for the water to calm, the food to dissolve, and about 4 minutes for the fish to eat.

I usually leave it off for about 20 to 30 minutes, which I guessed was enough time for the corals to soak up the food, and I do it at night.

Hi VinX... There is no exact answer here... 8 minutes, or 20 - 30, or even an hour is ok. You just want the water calm to give the corals a chance to catch the food before it is skimmed off the surface or filtered out.

tx for helping out, Im trying to get a hang of the corals, all i have had were fish for the last three years they dont require much, corals are something else, so many things to do, but its worth it
