Pump running hot

What would cause my main pump (Dolphin amp master 7200 gph) to run hot? It seems fine then runs hot enough to shut itself off. Nothing changes and nothing has changed since I first set it up. It does have to pump water up a floor about 15' but that is nothing for this pump. Any suggestions.

Dont know. I have only used it for about 8 months. It came with the setup I bought. When I got it I sent it off to Dolphin and they looked at everything, changed the impeller and gave it a great bill of health.

open it up and clean it out gunk will stick to the inside, see if it helps

Sounds like a bearing dragging to me. it may be worn out
