Who knows about these things and how good are they?

They will work like a charm, but the resins life will be very short and would need replacement more often than the RO would, kinda like puttin the DI unit at the beginning on the RO/DI unit...

Seems like they'd be pretty good, coupled with a particulate filter. However, my question would be: do they filter out all the bad things in the water? As I understand it, not everything we want out of the water is an ion.

That said, I bet the standard refillable resin cartridges for use in RO/DI systems would do the same thing in pairs. What I'd be most interested in is a source for good rechargeable charge-specific resins.

If the resin is truly rechargeable, I think it's worth it. Although you can buy the canisters cheaper elsewhere and just buy the resin from them...

Does this site have anything in stock?

You probably know this, but.... Yes, that is just DI resins broken out into separate components, I think (DI is de-ionizing... cation/anion) and some pretty intense indicators. Not sure how it would stack up against two re-fillable cartridges and bulk media, cost wise.

I have seen references to regenerating DI resens, however they are usually negative: of the "yes it can be done, but not really recommended" variety. I don't know if that is because it is difficult, risky, or not too effective, unfortunately. I read a post from one person recently that said they recharge theirs. I will try to track it down. It was on RC, I think.

Did a search... this is not the post, but is a good one:

This is a pretty good post. It points out that yes, it is not very effective to do for one cartridge load, but if you get a number of them, the work/cost is about the same.

If you get it, let us know how it goes:thumbs:

I have two Filter Guys RO/DI units and enough cartridges to last a LONG time. I even have replacement membranes laying around somewhere.

Another place to pick these up:

Ya, same here. Especially since with our already low area TDS and an RO in front of it, they last quite a while. I'd probably have to store for 2 years or so to make it worth the effort to try a re-charge. Of course, now I have a *reason* to never throw them away (just what I needed... "i'll probably re-charge all of that stuff some time when I get aroundtuit...")
