If we like the look of coralline growing on our tank's back wall, then why doesn't paint them purple to begin with?

I was thinking the same thing. With the recent threads about what color to paint and weather to scrape or not it just seems like an obvious thing to do.

In time it will be purple anyway. :) Save the time and the cost of the paint and let nature do its thing.

I paint mine black because I don't want to see the light/powerhead cords hanging down behind the tank, and the paint on the wall behind the tank, etc.

You won't get complete coverage of the back most times, so the black just gets whatever doesn't get covered in coralline.

I was thinkin maybe my next tank experimenting with a purple back not my lil pony purple but kind of a purple mountain majesty thing
