After 3 months my Purple Firefish seem to be fighting. If anybody is in the Flowery Branch area and would like one let me know. I may be separating these guys.

if i can make a suggestion....
try the following

1.try placing a mirror in front of the tank for a few days.
2.cut the lights for a day or two
3.rearrange the rock work

try them seperatly until one works

i would bet that this will solve your problem and you can keep your fish

Firefish are actually a little on the territorial side towards each other. Usually only male/female pairs do well. If you start with 4 eventually you will have 1 or two.

Sometimes it takes reaching sexual maturity before they start fighting.

Thanks for the help and info guys. I was told these were likely a mated pair. Does not look that way at this point.

I wanted to post an update and good news in case someone else runs into this issue. I was going to give away one of the Firefish but I simply could not catch him. I prepared for the worse but what has happened is that the 2 purple firefish have simply ended up moving to opposite corners and are now both doing well. My clowns seem to go from one to the other to socialize and the 2 purple firefish even mingle now every now and again with no more issues. Whatever territorial dispute happened seems to have worked itself out.
