Purple Mushroom Question!

I have had a purple mushroom for about 2 1/2 to three months and it has not yet divided. However, Bought a red mushroom from the Keens Reef, and it has multiplied twice. The red mushroom is also closer to the top of the tank recieving more light. I have heard that there are ways of splitting mushrooms. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

its been running for over a year. the mushroom is down at the base of the rock and is about 4-5" across. it is always open big, and has really great colors of bright blue to purple. i have heard that you can cut them in half and they will grow as long as you get a piece of the middle with it. is this true? thanks for your help!
