Has anyone ever used a pvc U pipe for thier drain rather than 2 90s put together? The problem I'm having is in regards to space in my overflow. I have a 72 gallon bowfront and the overflow is in the left corner. 2 90s just barely hit the glass and i think if i tightend my bulkhead it may crack the glass or not seal. I've tried shaving them down but I couldnt get the space I needed. So what I'm asking is would a pvc U pipe be shorter in length than two 90s put together? This is just about all thats holding me back from crankin her up!!

p.s. i cant post pics untill tonite

yeah you can find them in certain plumbing sections of home depot or lowes. they can be hard to find.

But you have two other options should you not be able to find those.

you can get street fittings which have one female side and one male side, or you can actually cut about 1/2" to 3/4" off the 90's I have done this when clearance is a issue. Its a bit harder to get the pipe in but once glued still works fine.
