question about feeding

if i didnt want to spend 15 dollars on 'garlic xtreme' or whatever it is called....what is another good way to soak my food. i have a watchman goby that decided to make his home in the back of my tank instead of the front, and i'm worried that he's not eating.

lol. i'm about to upgrade my lighting by a LONG shot. and i'm thinking of being a jerk and messing up his home so he'll hopefully move to the front so i can actually make sure he eats. he NEVER leaves his hole. ever. i've seen half of him leave, that's the farthest he goes.
