Hey folks. Just bought a house and moving about 10 min away. Have to move my 45gal jbj rimless and it has around 30 lbs of sand in it. I've never moved a rimless with sand and wonder if it will be feasible or not. Any advice?

If it were me, I would not move it with anything in it whatsoever. Too much chance of something going wrong. Besides, that would be a great time to chuck the old sand and start with nice new clean sand. I would go with dry new sand because the rock should have enough bacteria to avoid a cycle if you keep it wet during the move.

What Rich said. Ditch the old sand. We always used new live sand, not necessarily for the 'live' factor, but rather, for the pre-washed and already moist factor - less fuss, muss and clouding.

The tank should be completely empty when moved, so as not to risk the structural integrity of the tank.
