As I have posted before I have 3 MM LED fixtures for my 175 that ive had since this past summer. Took a few swings at getting them going on my APEX...with little success. I want to build a canopy for these as well...so I havnt been in any hurry to get them going. But I have a little time on my hands now and would like to at least see how "operational" they are.

Forget the APEX for now.

What kind of dimmer can I use other than my APEX thats plug and play that will get me going now?

Where do you get these?

Thanks!

Nut really plug and play but I use the kit from Rapid LED. Took me about an hour to solder it up. Did one for another member as well. I have had no trouble with mine.

I have the drivers you would need too. Was contemplating making mine dimmable... then decided it was going to take more effort and time that I had. Check my for sale thread.

Yep...mine are dimmable. Just need a dimming device of somekind.
I'll give Rapid LED a look.

Any other options?

Edit: Is this it?

Why not sort out the Apex? It's pretty easy and should be your ultimate goal anyhow.

It's kinda like buying a bicycle because you can't figure out how to release the parking brake on your new car.

I really should...
I can't remember what the problem was.
I was building Cat5 cables and Rj45 jacks splicing wires etc...
WAY out of my comfort zone. Seems I could get them to turn on and off just fine, but could not get them to dim. Felt pretty sure my outlets and profiles (ramping up) were correct. So I thought it was my cable. Maybe my pin colors were wrong.
Got pretty frustrated with it.

If you know an easy way to do it please pass it on brother!

Since I am such a nice guy, I will take your controller and put it on my tank so I can get it all working correctly for you. I promise to return it when I have it all ready to go. Should take about 4 or 5 years. :-) hehehehehehe

Seriously, it does sound like you have some of the wires crossed in the signal from the controller to the LEDs. I believe JeF4y has his done up just like you are trying to do it so I am sure he can help you out.

I think you are correct however he said he got them last summer. At that time, there were both manual dimmer capable as well as electronic dimmable. The electronic are compatable with controllers that provide a 0-10V DC signal to control the dimming.
