Okay I have a 45 high that I got from Jason awhile back...Well I got a light for it from a friend that owed me a favor..The question is..Is a 400 watt metal halide with a 14k bulb in it to much light for this tank?? it doesnt seem to heat the tank up to much..I was just wondering..All the coral seems to love it

Does seem extreme but your probably fine keep a close eye on temp, evaporation, and corals bleaching

Thanks..It was a free light so i didnt complain..Anyways the corals dont seem to be bleaching..i SLOWLY introduced them to it..at first i dont think they liked it..But a couple days later they seem to be pretty happy about it..The exaporation isnt to bad and the temp moves around about 3 degrees i have a cooling fan to move the heat away.

Could always raise the light further off the tank, like 10-12 inches.
