I bought this from Tim before he went back to school and never used it. For you guys that use it, can you give me the pros and cons to using it? I like to run as simply as I can on the reef. I oversize the skimmer, run a uv sterilizer, and slow flow for return. I load the tanks up with live rock (about 300 lbs total in the 150 gallon reef and about 200 lbs. in the 150 gallon fowler) and a refuge in both systems. I have used the vodka dosing in the past. When I change out to the LED's, I have noticed more algae in the reef. Will this product help in that aspect? I do have a canister filter and a reactor to try this product. Depending on advice, I may use or decide to sell it. Thanks for any advice.

Neo Zeo is a zeolite similar to either the zeovit stones or Filtra M by Elos. They assist in the removal of ammonia and nitrite so that nitrate will be slower in forming. They are part of the key to an ULNS. The other part is dosing bacteria and a carbon source to nourish the bacteria. With Brightwell's this would be MB7 and Biofuel additives. You change part of the zeolites out and add new. Every brand is different in their directions of dosing and how many liters of stones to use per water volume.

I have ran ULNS systems and they require strict dosing regimens to be successful. Also something that is note worthy, do not add the full amount of zeolites to your system at one time. They will strip out impurities in the water and can shock your corals and or burn them due to increased clarity. If you decide to use these please pay strict attention to the directions or visit Brightwell's website for further info.
