So I want to add more rock to my tank. Thought I would be happy with what I had, but I dont think I am.

I would really like to pull out most of what I have, put some bigger base peices in the re-add what I took out.

Should I be concerned with stiring up a mess and causing a tank crash? Would I be better off just leaving whats in place there and adding to it?

How old is the tank?

How deep the sand bed?

Tank is about 2 months old. With about a 2" special reef grade bed. The rock in there came from a small tank that was well over a year old.

I recently moved some rocks around and got another diatom bloom and that is sortof sparking my question. If just moving caused that then what would a remove and add do?

Well reason I suspected that, was I had already had a nice size bloom already once after setting it up. But thanks for the info.
