I just received a notice from my distributor that there has been a recall issued on Kent Reef Carbon with the following codes:

<p style="text-align:center;"><span style="color: red;"><span style="font-family: &quot;">EX05DEC14 and EX08FEB15
</span></span>
<p style="text-align:left;"><span style="color: Black;">
Only those codes are affected. If you have product with these codes, contact the vendor you purchased them from for return or exchange.

<span style="color: Black;">I do not know why it has been recalled - only that it is being recalled.

Edit: Here is a link to more information and more lot numbers:

I can't edit my original post further - please do check the link I posted. The lot numbers I posted were ones that went through the distributor that sent me the recall notice, but other lots are affected, and the link has a complete list.

Heavy metal toxicity (explained in the link) is the reason for the recall.

I have been reading about some massive tank crashes due to use of this product. It is a bit scary that we are totally at the mercy of those who manufacture the products we use in our tanks.

I carry the stuff but most of my customers use Seachem.

This can happen with any product where quality control is overlooked.

Yes, I've been googling and a lot of people have had a lot of SPS in particular, just crash. Very sad.
