Is there a secret recipe for Coraline growth. I've tried the purple up with seeding the tank with coraline and not a whole lot of luck. I am currently cycling my 220 and really want a purple tank. The 100lbs of live rock I have in the tank came from my backyard and it was bone dry for 6months....

Any suggestions?

Seed your tank with some coraline covered rock, use purple up, increase your calcium and neglect your tank for a while like I did! The first three are good steps, don't try the fourth!

Maintain approx. these levels-
Calcium 420-450
Magnesium 1300-1400
Alkalinity - 9dkH

If you maintain that and don't see good growth within a month, try adding a little iodide and strontium. Iodide is often a biolimiting factor, but should only be dosed very lightly, as it's only needed at .06mg/L.
