Anybody using Red LEDs at night?

I saw this product then started checking the forums and saw people saying they can have Red LEDs on at night without interfering with nocturnal activities.

My lunar cycle consists of 30 watts of blue LEDs on a 120g, which is still enough light to inhibit nocturnal activities so I don't run it much. I thought these Reds could be cool to watch coral polyp extension, cuc, and to monitor for unwanted pests/hitchhikers.

Turning the tank into a red light district? :D

I know that many people use red light for reptiles at night because it doesn't disturb them. Seems like it should be ok for fish.

I think red would look unnatural. I have these blue moon lites over my 465 gallon, and they work well. One would probably work for a 120. They are supposed to cover 3 foot of tank length.

Unnatural, yes. But just wondering if its been done. I don't keep my moon lights on all night so I thought the reds could be cool to run during the night cycle. So maybe if you wake up at night, grab a drink of water, then cruise by the tank and its mildly lit in red and you can see what's going on. Right now when I do a middle of the night peek I wind up using a small led flashlight which disturbs everyone.
