I'm going to buy the reef breeder value light for standard 29 gallon. I think it's 30inches long and 18 inches deep. Which optic should I go with, 90 degrees or 120? I want to light the whole tank.

Wow fast response. Thanks for the info, I couldn't find any information on what optics are best for that size tank. Going to place the order tonight.

I'd go with 120 just in case you ever decide to upgrade tanks. Most of the light will reflect off the glass and back into the tank anyways.

I do plan on upgrading tanks in the future, but from my understanding I can change the optics fairly easy.

Edit: Would there be any negative effects of getting the 120 optic besides spillage? Would I still have a sufficient of light to keep the corals I want? Like some SPS or a clam.

I just purchased a Reefbreeders Nova A 4 contollable fixture. I will use it over my 60 cube. Right now it is over my 30 cube and all I can say is...WOW! The corals i have in there seem to really love it and the colors pop much more. I'm only running at 20% and will ramp up about 10% each week until i get to about 60 to 70 %. This fixture is super with all kinds of options. If you purchase one , you'll talk to Logan...He is super helpful. The fixture has a 2 year warranty. Plus hardly any heat from the LEDs. The price is really affordable.

I'm running a 16" fixture with 120 optics over my 29. I've got a 24" fixture with 90 optics that I mocked up and the spotlighting was pretty bad over that tank. You would have to mount it a few inches higher if you want the 90's. Ask them to use 120's over the reds regardless.

In reply to Mopar9012....NO ,not at all too much spillage of light. As stated, it is set Now @ 20% max light output for the PM. It will later go over my 60 cube. Logan,at Reefbreeders, said sart it at 20% max light and work up 10% a week(so not to shock fish or corals). Coral colors really are stunning under this light and you get great shimmer! My optics are 120. No heat transfer to my cube. Love this light! Eventually, I will get the mav % to 60 or 70. 2 year warranty...can't beat it.

Mmm.. same amazing comments for this lights that I had heard before, wondering if I can go with them over my 120G in some future??? Thanks for keep this thread going with all the input, I'm really been considering this lights before for this built.

I got 120 optics. I figure either way it will light my small tank no problem so if I get too much spillage and it bugs me that much, I'll build a canopy or just change the optics. overall I hear nothing but good thins about these lights so I'm excited.
