Reef Octopus Skimmer Noise

Anybody have any luck silencing their Reef Octopus air intake? Mine is pretty loud, well loud for a skimmer. Its the only thing I can hear on the entire system.

Interesting. It should be very quiet.

what color is the silencer? Can you take a picture?

It's clear. Facing away from front of the sump so can't take pic. Looks just like this one.

Not sure about the regal line of product, but the latest silencer is red and you won’t hear anything if you have this silencer

This thing came in a shrink wrapped CoaralVue Box. Its the latest regal line skimmer. I guess I'll try some airline on it Back in the day I used to pack them loosely with cotton. I guess I can rig up something like that red one with come PVC and rigid air line....
