I'm thinking of doing a spray bar for my seahorse tank out of 1/2"PVC. Only problem is the PVC is white and will stand out like a sore thumb. So does anyone know of a spray paint that is save to use in a tank? Looking to paint it black.

Or schedule 80 is dark gray. I used Krylon and Rustoleum before with out adverse side affects. I would recommend soaking it in cold water to help with the final cure after 24+ hours.

Check wit Grouper Therapy. He has a contact that had dye for plastics. I dyed most of my plumbing that's exposed. No chipping or rubbing off.

Here's a link to my latest build using the dye on the plumbing. It dyes a very dark blue. Much better coverage than using the purple primer. Make sure you wipe everything down prior to dyeing to get good coverage.

Thanks for all the input guys. I think I'll go with the krylon paint as it seem easy enough. Now is that the name of the paint or is it the krylon base?

Walmart is the only place I've seen it local. Home depot use to have it but they quit selling krylon paint. It's krylon paint made for painting plastic. It's had the words krylon fusion on the front of the can. It sprays real smooth and needs no primer. My favorite part is how fast it dries.

Awsome!! Thanks, ill check out Walmart this weekend.

The tank won't be set up for another month or two, then another month after that before I put any livestock in it. So it's got plenty of time to dry and cure.

That though crossed my mind. Thanks for reminding me of it.

I have the same question but I am painting metal conduit for a hanging fixture for my light. Any particular paint you guys may recommend for metal.

Wipe the surface of the conduit with vining at and the paint will stick much better.
