which brand and what type do you guys find most effective and what were the results.
I have a mixed reef setup, sps, lps, zoas etc...
 
I'm using the Red Sea color up program, I believe it has 31 trace elements not found in most Salt brands, I like it so far I'm only a month in
 
Don't dose anything you aren't testing for...

Personally I don't use any supplements. I have a calcium reactor which holds my CA/ALK steady, and right now I'm using some Tech-M to deal with a bryopsis breakout. Other than that, food & water changes...

you do test when you use the Red Sea color up program, it works of your calcium uptake, which might be hard to calculate with a ca reactor

-calcium
-alkalinity
-magnesium
&
-an organic carbon source
(homemade)

FWIW-
I think most major brands of calc, alk & mag will do the job.
