Refug Idea

Has anyone ever made their overflow box into a refuge? Can it even be done? Was just thinking about how nasty mine looks... I have to get in there and do a good scrub, but was thinking if this is possible or if anyone has ever tried to stuff some cheeto down there....

Seems like that could cause issues with the drain from the overflow box. Better idea is to get an hang on refugium if thats the way you want to go. I cant imagine a refugium/overflow box is a good idea.

yeah, didn't know if it was possible. Just pushing around ideas. I would really like to get a refuge going at some point, just don't have a clue where I'm going to put it. you said hang it over the back? Do you have an example that might work better.

There are a few HOB refugiums available... I imagine Drs. Foster & Smith would have them. Not sure if they're big enough to do you much good, but I have never actually tried one or heard from anyone about them. I take it you dont have room under the tank?

I had a cpr big hang on the back fuge. I took it and mounted it higher than the sump and am supplying it with a maxi jet. Works great you can see it in my build thread
