do i need to have the light on a cycle too or just leave it on all day?

I run my refugium lights at night when the display lights go out. It helps keep the ph and temp stable. It also helps keep temp lower during the day, one less light burning.

I run mine 24/7. Cheato grows like the incredible hulk

well i have led lights for my fuge so im not worried about bulb life or heat but im really wondering what the effects would be on reverse cycles

Effects on reverse cycle-

...help to minimize/offest any drop in pH after the lights in the main display go off.

Maybe suggest that-
lights in fuge come on an hour before display lights go off, and
go off an hour after display lights come back on.

IOW- Overlap the display lights by an hour on both ends of the lighting cycle.
