Hi, I was thinking about a good way to get fuge water back to the display without running it through a pump and chopping up any pods.
Would constructing a venturi into the return line work? The pods would never see a pump.
Venturis are used up north, and probably elsewhere, as a back-up for basement sumps in case of power loss. I'm pretty sure the concept is sound but any thoughts on if it would work as I'm thinking?

As mentioned, at least some pods will survive the ordeal. I have read about some studies done on this with conventional impeller type designs, but honestly, I had about as many questions as they answered.

I have researched this topic some, and if you really want to do it with very little shear and/or mechanical impact (both can cause destruction) you should look into:
1) disc pumps, or
2) diaphragm pumps

Here is a link to a Youtube video of a disc pump design, actually pumping live fish. The 'video' is worth a thousand words:

ROFL at that video. I can only imagine what those fish are thinking...reminds me of the tube transit systems in NNYC on "Futurama".
