refugium ?

Can i take a rubbermaid tub and turn it into a refugium without all the baffles? What is the best setup for this, lots of sand and rock? Does cheato actually cling to rock or does it just float?

Baffled is better, but it doesn't have to be baffled.

Cheato does its job best when it "tumbles' in the water. Yes, it's a free floater and does not attach

So i am going to use a 12 gallon tub. What is the best setup. Lots of rock or deep sand bed.Or maybe both, need advice. It will be remote from overflow so what size pump would you rec to provide flow?
