Luckily I did not put this rock in any of my tanks. It had been soaking for a good while (not sure how long - but doesn't matter) - looked nice and clean. No algae etc.

Was soaking it for a few days in dark saltwater, still seemed fine - put it under lights and 2 days later I notice these....

Don't want these to make it into my tank - so - looks like an acid wash (citric acid / RO water) for a few days then a 2 or 3 week drying out period before I start using this rock. I could crush them - but there's too many and there is no way I'll get all of them.

Always check everything before it goes into your tank

Vermited snails. A pest - they don't really do damage per se but they can reproduce to plague proportions.

Nothing known to really prey on them - you can crush them by hand (with scissors or something) or cover them with super glue or epoxy.

Luckily - they have not yet made it into any of my tanks so I'll be able to eliminate them before I put the rock in any aquarium.
