Well, I have this big plate rock, massive. well enough to fit in my tank at least.. but i need to take it out but i have about 5 purple/blueish mushrooms hangin out on it.. I first dont want the mushrooms but need to kno how to take care of removing the rock and the shrooms.. of course the shrooms need to go first... any suggestions on how to get them off? or should i just sell the rock as a whole? i wouldnt mind that either.. taking that rock out any way..

to remove the shrooms...aim a powerhead at them for a little while then start *gently* pushing them at the base with a blunt object. They'll get irritated and let go.

Or just chip the rock a bit with the shrooms attached, then offer shrooms to new members.

tru, i forgot about that lol thanks amberjack.. o what time do i need to be there?

you know you could just melt them off with propane torch (this is how i got rid of my xenia)

Slice as close to the rock as possible with a razor blade.

but i dont want to kill them... yet... besides i am goin to redo my aquascaping just cuz i have no room for corals to grow out nicely and if someone wants to buy the rock I"d rather just do that than remove them...its a rather huge flat rock too

i thot of that, tho the rock its all that smooth and they are in a pit which poses a problem..

ok, figured I would just take a crowbar (no hammer around the house so had to use this) and chisel and cut out the shrooms from the rock so they are on their own rock now... plus i broke up the hug plate rock and that can go in to my sump or wherever I need to use them at.. now just to finish the sand removal and re-aquascape everything for more coral real-estate and i'll be good to go for the life of the tank :)
