Removing coralline from acrylic

I've been battling the corralline on my acrylic tank now for almost 3 years to the point I'm ready to tear it down and buy a glass tank. I've tried scrapers and credit cards and both worked, but with a 225 it takes a forever and I always found my hand was cramping terribly. I was doing some reading on a thread from 2010 and it was suggested to use a piece of acrylic that is softer than tank acrylic, which I tried and it worked great. I don't have any visible scratches (test this somewhere other than the front first) and even the tough stuff came off with a little effort. Just thought I'd pass on the tip for anyone that has struggled like me!

The other thing is to not let the coralline get really bad (widespread) before scraping.

It's much easier to scrape off the smaller dots of it, than a whole sheet of it.
