After taking a year-ish off the day to day stuff, the wife has finally agreed to return the former mixed reef turned fish and softies back to a mixed reef.
Other than needing to relamp everything, I'm baaack! :)

hepzibah is by augusta. I thought it was the most hillarious named place when I moved to augusta.

Edit: Welcome back, where is hephzibah?

Hephzibah starts roughly 11 miles south of Augusta and runs down to Burke county. Farm community trying to hold on to rural settings while the suburbanites encroach.
All in all, it's about like Woodstock of 10 yrs ago, but we're holding em off. :)
Someone told me the name was biblical years ago, but I cannot reference it.

Imagine all the first graders trying to learn how to spell it, much less pronounce it.
the 'zh' is pronounced 'zee', It's amusing to hear all the attempts to say the name. LOL
hep- zee-baa

thanks for the welcome back!

Welcome back ! You're still doing the RC helis I see. It is biblical ,Hephzibah was the wife of Israelite King Hezekiah and mother of King Manasseh(bad dude). The name was also used to describe Jerusalem from time to time, it means " my delight is in her". Don't ask me how I remember that one.:confused2:

Curious why I cannot post replies in other threads? Read over the Q&A for newbies, but with a post count over 300 it didn't seem it would be applicable..?
Anyway, I'm looking to make smaller steps instead of the full immersion method which resulted in much money wasted by buying larger pieces and then killing them off with total ignorance. Over the past 3 yrs, we've had a couple crashes that wiped out nearly everything. A couple hardy corals made it through some massive die offs, and are still around.
We let the tank go as a FOWLR with a couple survivors, and ignored it except for top-offs and monthly W/C's. Best thing we could have done was to NOT test and let everything achieve a balance. Sometimes not screwing with something works, we'd tried this chemical and that dose of whatever and only ended up with a tank so whacked and out of sync it was embarrassing. Now after a few months of the same 'ol with the exception of random tests, we are going to try again.
We are too far from ATL to take advantage of some of the deals there, and with only one remaining LFS, we are doomed to pay too high prices, or make the sacrificial 3 hr trip each way to come bargain shopping.
New job, same field will have me traveling sporadically to McDonough (?) so maybe I'll be able to slip in a detour now and again.

new subject: anyone find a way to keep the grandbabies from wanting to climb the stand to see the fishies? :)

Edit: guess logging in helps? :)

i was just working down the road from you and wondered if you was still in the hobby.

I'm looking forward to catchin' up. I just got an order in from SWF, and all 3 pieces are full open, so I might be close. :)
In need of a 250W MH ballast for my other fixture.. that's next on my list unless I hear of some frags I can't live without.
