I might want to change my return pump..

right now i'm running a mag9.5 at 950GPH on my 120

is there something that is quieter with less vibration and heat?

anywhere around 1k gph would be fine..

what do you think ?

I'm using an ocean runner 3500 on my 120. It's rated at 900 gph. It feeds my skimmer and two reactors as well as the tank return. Nice and quiet and very low heat.

Eheim 1262 would be my first choice and then probably the Ocean Runner.

I have a Ocean Runner 6500 return pump(1700gph) with a SCWD w/4 return nozzles on a 75g tank, it should work great on your 120g. Also 2 MP10 on less then half flow. Its been going 3+years and is quiet! :D

I just got a Deep Blue Triton 5 from Jenn. It is very quiet and pushes a ton of water. It's published for 1350gph. It uses very low wattage compared to the Mag pumps of comparable size.

So far I am very happy with it.

Should have mentioned the Marineland too... I have the ~1175gph model, and it has been great. Quiet and relatively cheap to boot. I remember Marc Levinson really talking these pumps up due to their low power consumption (even if he did have lph and gph mixed up when comparing them to Mag Drive pumps).

Don't care if I get a loud pump since I'm looking one for water changes. Let me know if any of you want to sell yours.

Thanks....
